How to get AYUDA from SSS (SBWS) Program

SBWS (Small Business Wage Subsidy)  a program launched by the government where Social Security System will provide wage subsidy to qualified employees from small business amounting between 5,000.00 - 8,000.00. This subsidy shall be given up to two months so that the affected small businesses can retain their employees during the quarantine period.

Guidelines for application:

How much is the subsidy?

The total aid of this program amounts to Php 51 billion. The SSS shall provide a subsidy between 5,000.00 - 8,000.00

Who are qualified?

- Must be an employee of a qualified small business
- Must be employed as of March 1, 2020 and won't be able to work due to ECQ
- Can be any of these status (regular, probationary, project based, fixed-term)
- Did not paid by its employer due to temporary closure in accordance with Labor Advisory No. 1 series of 2020.

Who are NOT qualified?

- Employees that is part of skeletal workforce or WFH.
- Recipient of SSS unemployment benefits
- On-leave during the entire ECQ with or without pay.

Who will submit the wage subsidy application?

The employers shall process and submit the application on behalf of their employees.

Deadline of application.

Only the applications from April 16-30, 2020 shall be accepted.

SSS to launch Calamity Loan - Re: Covid19 this coming April 24

The vice president for public affairs and special events, (Fernando F. Nicolas) said last April 15, 2020 that Social Security System will launch a Calamity Loan program as support to it's members surviving the Luzon lock down due to Covid-19.

Per Nicolas, the member can loan up to Php 20,000.00 or equivalent to their one month salary. It can cover their needs from March - May.

The government  has extended the Enhanced Community Quarantine to April 30, 2020. With this, the members can apply thru SSS Website, mobile app or My.SSS portal.

The approved loan will be credited to to member's registered bank account.

SSS will be charged a 10% interest per year and will be waving the 1% service fee.

Calamity Loan - How to apply?

SSS Calamity Loan is useful after after a typhoon, flood, fire or any natural disaster. An income that you've lost, cars that need repairs, houses that requires improvement and even a hungry stomach.

Who can apply for a calamity loan:

Any member that qualifies for the following requirements:

• Home address or property declared as under state of calamity.
• Has 36 months of contribution.
• Has not availed SSS Calamity loan assistance or SSS Restructuring program.
• Does not availed death, disability and retirement benefits.

How to apply for SSS Calamity Loan?

You can apply in three months after the issuance of SSS circular assistance in the affected areas. 

• Duly complied SSS Calamity application form --> https://www.sss.gov.ph/sss/DownloadContent?fileName=calamity%20loan%20assistance%20application.pdf
• One primary ID or two secondary ID.
• Barangay Clearance.

OFW can assign someone who can apply on their behalf, given the additional requirement below.

• Authorization Letter
• Copies of OFW's valid ID's and original ID of the authorized representative.

What is My.SSS?

This is an online portal that offers different services where SSS members can access their membership and contribution accounts, make online transactions, request and appointment with their branch as well as records of their membership.

This portal has has forum managed by authorized SSS agency where the members can discuss about related issues complains and queries.

In order to log in to My.SSS you must have a user name and password given also by SSS.

SSS Guidelines during the ECQ due to COVID-19

Given the guidelines below during the ECQ (Enhanced Community Quarantine) - Covid-19

• SSS will continue to serve it members  by implementing skeletal workforce in all of its branches in Metro Manila from 8am to 5pm on weekdays.
• Application for Unified Multi-Purpose Identification (UMID) and other transactions will be unavailable for the meantime.
• SSS branches outside Metro Manila will continue with the usual operation to serve its members.
• Members are advised to avoid the unimportant visit to the branches.
• Medical Evaluation Centers in Metro Manila will only be open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for sickness and disability benefit claims.
• The said guidelines will take effect starting March 16, 2020
• Transactions will be limited to applications for non-medical benefits like retirement, death funeral, unemployment, maternity and sickness notifications, employer reimbursement claims, pension loan program application, loan payments and contribution.
• For the membership records, loan programs and inquiry on the status of benefit claims, you may visit the My.SSS portal at the official website --> sss.gov.ph. You can also download the SSS Mobile App for further queries.

This is post is intended to pregnant woman members of Social Security System.

In order to avail maternity benefits in SSS, of course you must be pregnant, if your employed, you should inform the HR department of the company you are in, they will be the one to inform the organization about your status. It's better to inform the company of your situation right away. The earlier the better. The HR will be the one to process your papers with SSS inorder to avail the said benefit.

Just incase that you are not employed and you're into voluntary payment. You must personally visit the branch so the branch can inform you of  the correct documents and process  to avail maternity benefits.

SSS Online Inquiry is a system that provides updates on loan applications, membership contribution, account status and claims. You can check your account status by logging in here --> www.sss.gov.ph. SSS Contributions are directly deducted from the salaries of the employed members. Better to check your contributions status up to date, some companies doesn't remit on time. SSS Membership Contribution

Membership Contribution in SSS may now be done through online but not all people are aware on how to apply online, I have listed some tips below to make it easy for you.

Firstly, you need to register for SSS here --> www.sss.gov.ph. After registration, make sure to secure the your username and password. Most of us encounters trouble when it comes to LOG-IN. We must remember that once we loose them we will go through a very hard time asking for a new one. They will require you to fill up necessary documents for the lost username and password. After complying the needed details, you will wait for few days until  you received an email from them. They send you an email containing the link in which you need to verify your account. After the verification has done, they will send you another email that contains your new user name and password.

This time around please secure your new username and password. Note it. It will be easy for you to access your account, contribution and loan status anytime and anywhere.

SOCIAL SECURITY SYSTEM MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION

SSS is a government association in which anyone must have. A member must be at legal age. When you are employed, you are required to have an ID of the said association. The company you are working for will be the one to pay for your monthly contributions. Half of your total contribution will be paid by them and the other half will be deducted to your monthly salary.

To be a member of Social Security System, just visit the  nearest branch from your location, fill up the necessary form which SSS will provide. Bring the basic requirements, your proof of identification, your birth certificate. Indicate your beneficiaries. After submitting you will be a member of the group. Your ID Number will be given to you right after the application, but your ID will be given after your first contribution.

SSS ID Processing

SSS ID is one of the most acceptable government valid ID's whenever you transact anywhere the country so it's important for you to have one. It's free and all you have to do is visit the SSS branch near you and you can apply for your own SSS ID.

Some of the requirements needed are, valid ID's, birth certificate, and your going to fill up an application form that indicates your personal details which includes your beneficiaries.

Application will take few months before you will get your ID but right after you submit your application, your SSS lifetime number will be given to you where you can start your contributions and remittances. Once you have the first contribution, it is when you get you SSS ID.

Social Security System is not available only in the Philippines. It is also available abroad. This is helpful to our OFW's that having problem with regards to their SSS Account, wherein they wasn't able to went home just to discuss matters like SSS Balances, SSS Loans, and SSS Benefits.
